New to Keto and just the intro alone will give you a broad idea about the diet/way of eating. I have been poring over the book, will be cooking some dishes this weekend, can’t wait. This is not your simple American dump recipes. But they aren’t hard either! Very tasty. I see there are a few key ingredients and some unique ingredients. But hey I think we can all agree “diets” can be boring. This doesn’t even remind me of my goal to lose weight. I have cooked previous recipes of hers. Easy, simple and delish. You have nothing to lose and happy tastebuds to gain!

Yummy! Great guide to the instant pot. There are a million Instant Pot recipes available and a lot of them aren't fit for the dog dish. Never fear this book will help you learn to how to think about cooking really good food in an electric pressure cooker. Lovely! In my opinion, it is good to have a cookbook, because I do not need to think about what to cook- it is enough to open the book. I liked the fact that there are many recipes and each of them has simple ingredients. The meat dishes and desserts are important for me , because I love to cook it the most. I give a high score. Really I love this keto meal prep book. This book contains a lot of new and effective steps and information about Keto Meal Prep for beginners. This book is well written by the author. Recipes are easy to follow, sensible and easy to prepare. Love that it includes meal plans and tips. Thanks. It is amazing one! Well!

First let me say that most of these reviews seem to be on the wrong book....incorrect author mentioned in review, recipes praised that are not in this book. Book is very poorly formatted (paperback) especially the ingredients list for each recipe. It might be easier to deal with if all recipes were formatted the same (still poorly) but that’s not the case. The recipes do look good BUT it may be very difficult to figure out correct amount of particular ingredients in some of the recipes. I will probably end up returning the book. This book should have never made it past an editor. Recipe for Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake only lists “eggs”. Knowing how many eggs would be nice.

Pages were numbered up to and including 21, then no page numbers! Yes, I know I can pencil them in myself, but for the price you would think that someone would have caught this. Not happy with this purchase but will endeavor to try to look through it.

I am a bit surprise of the great reviews this book received. I've only looked at a few recipes and so far I've only tried one but the book has page numbers thru page 21 then stops. Also many of the recipes call for sauteing/searing the meat but leaves out what to saute it in, oil, etc.. The only recipe that I cooked was the Mexican Carnitas on page 14 which uses pork shoulder blade roast but in the recipe, step 2 says, "Arrange the Chicken....." Which should say Pork. Doesn't look like this book is ready for prime time yet.

Very disappointed in this purchase. Returning the book.

This one is the best of them all. There is a great variety of well-thought-out recipes in this book. And, what's especially great about all those quality recipes, is that the author succeeded in creating them in a way that we can reproduce them accurately, easily and without a lot of effort. The recipes are made with accessible ingredients and not some of the weirder stuff I’ve seen in other instant cookbooks. Really excited about this new book . Love the format, seems to have easy recipes with many ingredients that I already have on hand.I am actually returning the book because I seriously would not use it for any of the recipes.Easy to follow, easy to read.

This text is worth getting simply for novelty sake. While there is some good information, like the section on omens, a lot of the information felt like it was more geared for those looking more to own a taboo book. A lot of the concepts in this book contradict the nature or the book and relies HEAVILY on Christian and Catholic faiths rather than some of the practices that would actually be taboo.TLDR: There are FAR more informative and unbiased texts on this topicFull ReviewThe information that was actually useful, mostly the section on omens, was very short and of the more common omens in western culture with the occasional eastern omen sprinkled in to add diversity. On top of that the useful information could have been found in minutes with a google search. A lot of the other information was more centered on forcing someone to love you, getting richer, or condemning the very groups of practiciiners that would delve into the use of charms, divination, and Magick even going as far on how to prevent someone who would practice such practices as Divination, Charm Craft, or Magick from entering a Church. If you really want a good text on these practices look at “Protection and Reversal Magick” by Jason Miller or even “The Magicians Companion: A Practical & Encyclopedic Guide to Magical & Religious Symbolism” by Bill Whitcomb.

Wow, this little book is incredible. Finally, someone wrote a book on this subject that doesn't require the reader to have a doctorate degree in ancient history to interpret it! When I received the book and took it from the packaging, I thought, because of the cover, that it might be too complicated for the non alchemist to read--but I was wrong. Every subject and sentence contains useful information--no formulas, no tools of the trade, no incense, no potions to buy or prepare....just good useful information, much like you could hear from a Pellar or Witch in the old UK re remedies. The info in the book is useful and a fun read. Actually, this is a keeper for my library! I do wish that the book had a table of content in the front, which would facilitate looking up specific subjects quickly....

Well I bought it for the content insideThere are a few typos and misspelled words but the pages are kinda slanted like they were photo copied and hastily put together.I would be interested in to original writings that the author took this from.It’s not a bad read if you don’t know much on the topic but I am quite learned on the topic so I am sorry to say it basically had stuff in it I already knew.

Its cute, of course the one time I get something I hope my nosy mail carrier will open it comes UPS. Damn it!Now correct me if I'm wrong but the crazy person holding a pissed off blind bat, is going to be quiet the opposite of invisible to be fair I'm not going to make eye contact with them or even really show that I'm looking at them... This is a great book to sit out in the living room when your aunt Hattie comes calling. It's a fun read, covers a lot of superstitions, but I'm not going to put much faith in it. There are some cute ideas in the book,l so it's worth three stars, but the person who revised it, and most likely the person who wrote it, was not really familiar with magic of any kind. Or at least any kind of magic with which I am familiar.

Listened to the audio book and I was laughing hysterically at the beginning . I did get his humor and at least he was entertaining. Some books I've read about the AT are so dry, like "I walked 8.2 miles and stayed in Hilbilly shelter, then I got up and walked 11.1 miles...." He does go off on tangents about alot of things, so what I got from it was it wasn't really that much about the AT. I didn't think he complained alot like some people said. He did describe better than most the parts of the AT that he did see. Also, I believe the fantatical thru-hikers seem to think the AT belongs to them and there is no merit in doing short hikes. I'm glad the book wasn't really about a thru-hike. I liked his descriptions and humor but I could also see where some people who lack a sense of humor wouldn't get him. It's an enjoyable read, but if you are a serious, fantatical hiker, just accept this book for what it is. I give him credit for walking any of the trail and even started to like Katz before it was all said and done. If you are really serious about hiking the trail, I would suggest getting a variety of authors and their perspectives. Normally I don't like authors reading their own books, but in this case if anyone else had read it, I don't think it would have had as much impact.

It has been twenty years since Bill Bryson, a writer originally hailed from a small town in Iowa, fell in love with Great Britain where people are delighted in small pleasures, called strangers “Love,” and orderly wait on lines in public without peevishness. So much so that he has even married one. Now it is high time that Bryson returns to the States along the lines of Odyssey, who returned home in Ithaca twenty years after the decade-long Trojan War and another decade of travails. In retrospection of the memories collected on his beloved adopted homeland, Bryson decides to take a valedictory jaunt around the island small but big enough to nurture him with a wealth of culture and a bounty of humanity. And he does it on public transportation and by hiking along with his trademark razor-sharp wits, intractably keen intelligence, and his usual touchy-feely way of observing people and things that either irk or pique him. All of it comes to fruition in this highly amusing and genially forthright travel memoir.You will be surprised to find out that the British think that the cereals are their invention. You will be overawed by the ubiquitous hedgegrows dated back to Anglo-Saxon times embroidering on the British landscape. Bryson will also take us for a ride in a London cab driven by an affably jocular cabbie who has to pass the Knowledge Test to memorize almost everywhere in the City of London. But London is not his demarcation of traveling. Bryson will further come along with you to Bournemouth, Exeter, Liverpool, which is his favorite city, Manchester, and even up north to Scotland all by train or coach, and by walking. With his truculent feistiness, irrepressible inquisitiveness, and scintillating sense of humor fabulously ingrained in his choice of the apropos words and jovial descriptions devoid of malice, Bryson is a cool cicerone, and your excursion will never be a bore.The book seems to be primarily aimed for British readers who might be curious about what a foreigner would think of them and their country as a whole. In that regard, Bryson’s words are predominately British in the sense that the words and expressions he uses in the narrative are familiar to the British. For example, “bank holidays,” “coach,” “lorry,” or “Sainsbury’s” are peculiar to the British ways of life. But this kind of cultural barrier is kindly tackled by Bryson by providing you with glossary of the British terms in the end of the book.I have read other books by Bryson because of the same reason that induced me to select this book: his story-telling like narration is very appealing to me with his proverbial witticism smeared in every word he employs. He may appear a grumpy American man, but he has a heart to feel and see milk of human kindness in every quotidian thing or nondescript person by using the most appropriate words in wonderfully lucid expressions. There is a charm in his writing that will make you an admirer of his writings, and this book is no exception. It is Bryson’s long love letter to the small island he has fallen for head over heels with sincerity and loyalty with kisses and promise to come back to her.

Great book if you love people who love themselves to an extreme. Also a great read if you hate the United States, especially southerners. Perfect for the "open-minded, progressive" types who look down their noses at anyone who doesn't behave and think exactly like themselves. Also, a great gift for anyone who likes books that pretend to be about people doing something, but then are really just about quitting doing that thing before they really get started.Here's a good example of the writing, "See, the Army Corps of Engineers aren't really good at building. One time this thing that they built broke. Moving on...I like Great Britain because there aren't that many Americans there. See, I really hate myself, so I take it out on all other Americans instead if just looking in the mirror and admitting that I am a sad sack."

Right. Well this book completely derailed my reading list for the summer. I was supposed to be catching up on Criminal Justice texts and memorizing terms from Barron's Law Dictionary... Instead, I purchased Notes from a Small Island and things went out of control from there. It is literally the first time in my life that reading a book made me laugh out loud and uncontrollably, to TEARS. This gem was highly recommended by English friends as a must-read before I make the move to the UK for my year of study abroad this fall. I obliged. Not even halfway through the book, I decided to order more of his books right away in order to have them ready when I finished with this one. That is how my Bill Bryson binge began. Currently I am on my third book (by order of what arrives in the mail first) called A Short History of Nearly Everything.Bryson is merciless in his observations of British towns and the British in general, but it's all in the spirit of that endearingly cynical, self-deprecating, quintessential British humour. (see what I did there?!) His way of writing puts you at ease and it's like a cross between travel guide, government & history lesson and stand up comedy, as Bryson loves to go off on barely relevant and hilarious tangents. You never get the sense that he is trying too hard or being pretentious, either. A bonus is the glossary he provides in the back of the book for British words like "dual carriageway" and "naff."The fact that it was recommended to me by English and Welsh friends is testament to the authenticity of Bryson's observations and his comedic genius. Seriously recommend this read if you're an Anglophile or just enjoy a good, fun read.

I am not a mechanic, but have had several diesel cars, and just wanted more "basic" information regarding how they work and what terms such as "Common Rail Direct Injection", etc. meant. This book is overkill for what I was looking for, but there really were no other books that gave me the details that I wanted. It is a very hard to read, technical book, but has everything you would ever want to know about diesel engines. For the price, if you have more than a casual interest in how diesel engines work, you will find the book worthwhile. If your job involves managing diesel engines, you absolutely need to have this book in you library. I would recommend this book, with the understanding that this is not a "casual reader" type of book.

If you ever wanted to know more than you ever needed to know about diesel engines grab this book. I will say this will help prepare for oral and written exams for marine engineers. Very in depth and drawings are excellent.

This book very thoroughly explains the functions of the diesel injection systems. I would guess you could say Bosch wrote the book on diesel injection and this is the book.There seems to be something odd about some of the wording in the book. I guess it is the translation. I found if I would ask what other words could be substituted, it made it clear. Example: I would substitute the word 'power' where the book uses 'torque'. This makes the book a little slow to read, but once you get the knack of it, you will find the book very informative in understanding the systems.I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to understand diesel systems better. This explains how and why things work, not just what things do.I only gave it four starts because of the translation. Everything else is there.

Great book, wish some Automotive engineers would read it. I can tell by the Stupid Engineering on my Jeep Liberty CRD that Chrysler never read the book.

This book is written at a serious technical level and covers both the history of diesel engine management and the theory of the different systems presented. Unlike most books on diesel engines it is not a repair manual nor a brief pictorial history of diesel engines and the vehicle they power. To get the complete benefit from this book, above average technical knowledge would help.

The book is about modern diesel engine technology from Bosch‘s knowledge base. It clears the confusion and misconception about Common Rail technology as compared to other diesel technology. Most of the diesel injection technologies on the market today are explained with the aid of diagrams.
