This travel book is easy to navigate, covering a little bit of everything. It includes your essential stops (e.g., museums, memorials, landmarks, etc...) but also gives a feel for each of DC's unique neighborhoods. You'll learn about the best restaurants, bars, and scenery in a well summarized description. A variety of itinerary options (depending on how much time you have) give every type of traveler options to make a trip to DC (which can be overwhelming at best given the infinite number of things to see!) a joy instead of a headache! The photos are gorgeous and give you a real feel for what you'll be experiencing. Best of all, it is clear the author knows DC inside and out. She has the best tips and tricks to making a trip to the capital the experience you are hoping for, whether you're a local or a tourist. This is not just your mama's free AAA guide, that is for sure!

This up-to-date guide is a must read for all visitors to DC. It is written by a local who has lived and loved in the city. She is a taste-maker and I've been following her writing for years. The topics in this guide range from cultural to educational and include tips for specific travelers. I lived in DC for years and the guide includes some of my favorite spots for performances and food but also some that are new-to-me, and that I'm eager to experience. It's handy for all needs and makes a great gift. I bought one for my friend who was bringing her daughter to DC for the first time. Cannot recommend this book enough!

While most people arrive in Washington, DC for the monuments and museums, there is so much more to the city. New restaurants pop up every day. Terrific live music venues. Fascinating local cultural events. A burgeoning bar scene. And this book has it all captured perfectly--equal parts reference guide and compendium of local insight and stories. Whether you're from the area or a visitor from afar, it is definitely worth picking up. One odd note, though: the book seems to leave out most of "Trump's" Washington, while being dishy on everything else. I guess if anyone is looking for that, just follow the protests...

This guide was great in helping me find all of the hip places during a recent stay in DC. It helped me live like a local for the week. Make sure you pick up a copy before you plan a visit to DC, such as the upcoming Cherry Blossom festival.

There are tons of city guides available but if you truly want to see DC through a Washingtonian’s eyes and take everything the nation’s Capital has to offer, this book is the one for you. It showcases the popular museums and tourist attractions as well as the city’s vibrant restaurants, bar scenes, and more.

My co-worker recommended this when I was looking for places to take my girlfriend for her birthday and Valentine's day. We live next to DC, so I wanted to find new places and activities for us. This guide made my job way too easy. For Valentine's, the suggested romantic restaurants turned out to be Michelin star restaurants. We ended up choosing Fiola Mare and had the greatest table side dish ever! I'm using the book now to plan a date night for our anniversary and I've never been more excited. I recommend this book for anyone traveling through DC, or for locals that want to find something fresh and new.

Living in DC, my husband and I often use this travel guide to pick our next date night restaurant. The author has included some great, unique places — from casual to fine dining — and she has not led us astray! The guide also has many family-friendly suggestions and we are looking forward to exploring new neighborhoods with our toddler. I recommend this book to anyone looking for the best places to eat, drink and play in DC.

Lots of reasons to find this perfect purse size travel guide a must for your next visit to our Nation's Capital. After an absence of many years , I was planning a quick visit to Washington and was mindful of limited time. I wanted to go and do as much I was was able in a short period of time. Ms. Sault's book assisted me with that goal.. The guide is very well organized and a quick read. Besides of all the helpful categories-hotels, restaurants, museums, galleries, stores, sights, monuments, neighborhoods, walks, she offers personal tidbits of knowledge which indicate her personal connection to the city and all that is there. Loved the maps and very much appreciated her range of price choices for restaurants and hotels. I enjoyed my Beloved Capital City, ate well, loved my hotel, saw and learned lots in magnificent museums, walked endlessly in lovely parks.-Accomplished all and much more than I anticipated- Thank you, Ms. Sault for your assistance.
