About the Author
Emma Dodd was brought up in a family of artists, and from as far back as she can remember she has wanted to be an illustrator. Teared up when I read this book to my newborn. Easy, simple language and a positive and loving message from any parent to their child. I got the board book dormat — which apparently doesn’t have the foil embossing in the illustrations as some other reviewers mentioned. Adorable illustrations and quality binding/printing.
This is our first Emma Dodd book. As soon as we got it, hubby read it to our 1 year old. It's about a parent (wolf) telling his/her little one what they wish for them. It's adorable and I loved just watching my husband read this to baby. I'll be checking out some of Dodd's other books. Buy this, you won't regret it.
My baby is only 4 months, so at this stage I choose stories for my own enjoyment, not his yet. "Wish" is sweet and sentimental, but not saccharine. The drawings are cute and catch my baby's attention. I hope this becomes one of my baby's favorites, because I certainly enjoy it!
Although the book never mentions huskies I got this to use as a guestbook for my friend’s baby shower as she loves huskies and the characters do look like huskies. Everyone adored it. The words are very touching and the shimmery details on every page make it light up. I’m certain my friend will cherish this for ever.
When my Grandson saw this book I bought him, he was so excited. The family had just read another by this author & he was so disappointed they had to take it back to the library. He sat right down & looking through the book.
My son loves this book! He has a wolf cub doll that he snuggles up with after we read this book. I'd say that it could have been written a little better, but the illustrations are a real winner.
I absolutely adore this book. it is so sentimental, it brings tears to my eyes. the language in it is a bit hard for my 16 month old to understand (such as "wish"), but the pictures are pretty and easy to understand, so I narrate most of it.
Super cute and sweet book. Nice quality - kind of a foam-like cover (thick). Very sweet story. I like wolves so this matched the theme of my baby shower perfect.
