Love the Patchwork Quilt Designs coloring book from Creative Haven! The pretty designs make it fun to choose your favorite colors to create beautiful quilts without having to even thread a needle. Each quilt pattern is well drawn which makes them easy to color without too much deliberating. Liked this book so much that I will be ordering others. Love that Creative Haven coloring books have the designs printed only on the front of each page leaving the backs blank so you can use markers without worrying about them bleeding through.

This is by far the best coloring book yet. Most of them have way too many bold black lines and your pictures don't look very pretty when you are done. But this is the perfect balance of patterns and designs without the bold lines. It gives a lot of room for creativity. Really enjoying it.

Filled with eyecatching designs that are fun to complete. I was expecting some of the more traditional patterns like what I grew up with, but these were fun to learn and experience. Thank you Creative Haven and Dover. As usual, you didn't disappoint.

I think I was expecting quilt designs that I may have heard about or seen before but nope. So these coloring book pages didn't serve my purpose which was to use them in my nursing home 'art' class.

Oh my I just adore this book. I got it used but it is in fantastic shape for a library book. The binding is broken and torn so I had to fix that but otherwise I can not complain. I received it really fast. What I love about all the bears it that as one looks you can make up your own using the body patterns of the bears in the book. So awesome as it should be. Very easy to read and follow the directions.

This book as some very cute little to medium projects combining quilting and embroidery. perfect for that little extra to make your project special. the instructions for the quilt are a little lacking for a beginner. The embroidery is mostly simple stitches and there is a sample in the beginning of the book. I might suggest if you are a beginner you might want to get one of Janice Vaines Embroidery books as she has excellent instructions on embroidery stitches.

I honestly LOVE every project in this book! There are 15 projects in all and all the projects include some embroidery...some are big like quilts and most are small, like bags and pincushions.All the patterns are full-sized so just trace and go. The author also recommends floss.If you are a fan of embroidery and sewing then this book is perfect for you! I am looking forward to starting many new projects from this book!

Very interesting history of battles on the high seas. The book starts with the American revolution and ends with the Iran/Iraq war. Blunders, goofs, pure guts and fast thinking on all sides. It is amazing how some high level folks hard headed thinking can set up failure and how folks at the site can overcome those road blocks. The author sometimes provides blow by blow, shell by shell flight explanation of what happened. The book doesn't get bogged down in too much detail or lost in meaningless stuff. There is actual ship to ship battles and in WW2, Pacific island battles. It is a good read. I did enjoy it because I work at a shipyard working on navy ships and like history.

Just like his other How to Lose books, well researched and written. Wets your appetite to lean more about these battles.

Interesting book but I would like some more detail on certain episodes. Still very worthwhile

The title and description present a book addressing bad naval plans and executions. Some of the chapters do so (British errors that allowed the French fleet to isolate Cornwallis' troops at Yorktown during the American war of independence, Bainbridge's carelessness that resulted in the loss of the frigate Philadelphia during conflict with the Barbary pirates, British errors in the Mediterranean pursuit of the WW1 German battlecruiser Goeben, the defective North Korea defense at Inchon, and others). However, many of the later chapters don't fulfill the title's promise: the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa during WW2 generate only the authors' description of horror and waste, but no statement of how "errors" - on either side - contributed, beyond assertion that the Japanese empire was on the ropes and shouldn't have defended so successfully, the American carriers would have done better in Kamikaze attacks had they possessed armored flight decks like the British carriers, and the Yamato sortie was wasted because no Japanese air cover was provided.Nothing much new here, folks, just move along.

Of the 33 chapters in this book, none of them are from pre-1780, and 22 of them are from the Second World War. The end result is a bland book consisting mostly of poorly-presented material that anyone interested in the topic will already have seen elsewhere. The sole stand-out feature was a section on the battle of Peleliu in 1944, a battle which generally receives less attention than it deserves (probably because so many things went inexcusably wrong and it was downplayed in the "official histories" of the war). The book is also riddled with factual errors, and since the chapters were written by several authors, statements in one chapter sometimes contradict statements in another chapter.

The brass (military and political) need to keep the field commanders informed and provide latitude for those commanders to deal with the situation they face. Usually field commanders will make good decisions, when given the big picture.

While I enjoyed reading through the contents of the book, I did not realize before receiving the book that it was basically a glorified re-print of a photocopied version of the original published version of the book.I guess that is on me since the series is called "Kessinger Legacy Reprints" after all. Hopefully the pictures I am adding here will clarify what this book actually looks like to other potential buyers.The current price of $15 seems rather pricey for the content and quality of the book in my opinion.

A short read, but powerful. What takes others pages and books to explain in convoluted language, Publius Syrus puts forward with brevity in a single line.

No shortage of really cool proverbs and expressions here. This Publilius guy was quite a freedman. He had to have been if his slick wit and personality convinced his master to free him

These saying are not only thought provoking but very intriguing as well.
